چکیده مقاله:

Hysteresis has been widely recognized in the soil water relationship. In this paper, a detailed review of hysteresis was performed in relation to its models. So far, different models have been suggested to describe hysteresis in the water retention curve (WRC) that could be categorized into two main groups: conceptual and empirical models. The models in the first group are based on the domain theory of capillary hysteresis and those in the second group rely on the analysis of observed WRC shape and properties. Conceptual models include the independent and dependent domain theories and the Parlange's model, while empirical models consist of the interpolation, linear, Slope and Scaling – down models. Different results of studies carried out by several researchers showed that the Parlange model, that uses the concept of rational extrapolation, was the best model to predict hysteresis of the WRC.

Hysteresis Phenomenon on Water-Based Nanofluid Viscosity

Dynamic viscosity values for three particular water-based nanofluids have been experimental determined using a commercial ‘piston-type’ viscometer. Viscosity data, expressed as a function of temperature and particle volume fraction, are presented for 29nm particle-size CuO-water and Al2O3-water with 36nm and 47nm particle-sizes, temperatures up to 75°C and particle volume fraction up to 9%. In ...

Hysteresis phenomenon in turbulent convection

Coherent large-scale circulations of turbulent thermal convection in air have been studied experimentally in a rectangular box heated from below and cooled from above using Particle Image Velocimetry. The hysteresis phenomenon in turbulent convectionwas found by varying the temperature difference between the bottom and the top walls of the chamber (the Rayleigh number was changed within the ran...

Hysteresis phenomenon in deterministic traffic flows

We study phase transitions of a system of particles on the one-dimensional integer lattice moving with constant acceleration, with a collision law respecting slower particles. This simple deterministic “particle-hopping” traffic flow model being a straightforward generalization to the well known Nagel-Schreckenberg model covers also a more recent slow-to-start model as a special case. The model...

3D modeling of water transfers in soil and roots systems

This work presents a three dimensional model simulating water transfers in soil and root systems (figures will be 2D for a better readability). Simulations are usually performed using a layer discretisation of soil space ([12]) often monodimensional or a global fluxes budget ([15]). Some experimental models simulate individual roots ([2]) but are huge consumers of computer ressources. Our appro...
